A Very Special Birthday Message

A Birthday's your day
to enjoy while it's here,
And remember with pleasure
the rest of the year...

It's a time to look back
on the year that has gone,
On the things you've achieved
and the good times and fun...

It's a time to be glad
for the joy of this day,
For the greetings and gifts
that are coming your way...

It's a time to look forward
with confidence, too,
And with hope in the year
that is starting for you.

May your Birthday
bring happiness
right from the start,
May each thing you do
give you lightness of heart,
Then may all your hopes
for the days you get in store
Bring even more joy
than the days gone before.

Have a Very Happy Birthday =)

Proper Weekends

i had my first proper weekend off just because it was the weekend. it did so much better for me in terms of time and energy levels. for once, i could spend my weekend without having to squeeze the agenda of a normal busy weekend in with a day's worth of work.

i've been appreciating the quiet times in the midst of busy times. sitting in the park or on the beach, scouring the weekend markets, cosying up with the dogs, eating a lovely breakfast at lure, going for walks/drives, eating ice cream on a fine day... i think i love these moments the most out of the whole weekend.

No Birthday Roar and Snore This Year

this is what i'd love to do on my birthday. (click!) unfortunately, dates are already booked up :( and i have bigger future plans that i need to save up for. but i'll definitely have to do this some time in my lifetime though.

life is so booked up nowadays. it's astounding how much i rely on my diary to tell me where i have to be, who i have to meet, what i have to do and most of all, when. it's crazy how i already have a "things-to-do" list for next year and how little of this year is left. gone are the days when plans are made on the spot just with the phone call of the moment.

i'd love to be in sydney for many reasons, but i'll miss the easy comfort i've established in brisbane. i'll miss my friends and i'll have to give up an exciting work opportunity. but at this moment, i'm missing home and missing sydney.

grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change,
the courage to change the things that i can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

07 September 2009

i have been having the most awesome time just chilling out and enjoying the simple pleasures of life with the best company.

two weeks ago, i flew down to sydney again. spent thursday night having a char-sieu dinner followed by salsa with the opera house in view. after a day to myself around sydney, went to thai for dinner in cremorne on friday. left early saturday morning for our weekend road/ski trip to the snowy mountains. skiied perisher, stayed overnight at a family-owned resort between the slopes and jindabyne, then visited canberra and returned to sydney for a late lunch at the olympic park on sunday. was reluctant but had to leave sydney after dinner and shopping in newtown on monday night.

lake jindabyne from the window
didn't take much photos because i hadn't realized i had brought a camera on low battery -_-"
but i have fond memories of the snow, the lake, the kangaroos and the cherry blossoms

i attended orientation at a new workplace today and finally experienced a day where i didn't have to drive to work and got home in time to go grocery shopping and cook a nice meal. i can only hope for the best for the future.
